The Mision and Vision of Pushpin Movement

(By: Ann Marie Cunanan | Pushpin Movement) Last November 29, the Pushpin Movement team had a one day Vision, Mision, and Core Values workshop that was facilitated by Miss Jerlie Sindao, a formator and a Jesuit Volunteer of the Philippines. This was to anchor the group in what it wants to achieve in the long haul.

The Mision and Vision of Pushpin Movement

There were only two of us, Cheenee and I, when we first started Pushpin Movement early last year. Through the grant project, we were able to extend the group to a five-man team and share this dream of connecting people and local communities with Nina, Lui, and Miday.

With a bigger team and a big job ahead of us, we find it crucial to have a shared vision and mission for the organisation. We were fortunate enough to be facilitated by Miss Jerlie Sindao, who has over 21 years of experience in handling volunteer formation and immersion.  Jerlie is Jesuit Volunteer of the Philippines (JVP) and currently serves as JVP Formator.  With her help, we are proud to present to you our Mission, Vision, Strategies and Core Values. Now, here we go!

MISSION:

Pushpin Movement is a Global Social Enterprise that connects and inspires individuals and communities through immersive volunteer experiences and meaningful travel in the Philippines.

OUR VISION:

To establish lasting relationships between and among local and international volunteers, communities, public and private sectors through enriching immersive volunteer experiences.

STRATEGIES:

1. To provide a transformative volunteer experience;

  • To create opportunities for the volunteers to experience the local life,
  • To facilitate the volunteer’s experiential learning and in-depth understanding of their partner community,
  • To guide volunteers in processing and synthesizing their experience.

2. To build linkages and networks with communities, public, and private sectors,

  • To identify existing and potential projects and initiatives that are relevant and valuable to the community,
  • To validate projects that are responsive to the needs of the community.

3. To promote a sustainable global volunteerism:

  • To promote Philippine tourism that is community based,
  • To ensure responsible volunteering through gender sensitive, child friendly, and eco-friendly practices,
  • To operate as a social enterprise that achieves profitability while maintaining its social mission.

OUR CORE VALUES:

1. Service to our stakeholders – we believe in giving a quality service to our volunteers, local community and partner organisations.

2. Community empowerment - we believe that development must come from the people, hence, the projects we support are grassroots driven.

3. Teamwork - we believe in solving problems together for greater involvement and impact.

4. Sustainability – For environmental sustainability, we believe in conducting our activities consciously to preserve and protect the environment. For Business sustainability, we believe in pursuing business growth that is inclusive for both Pushpin Movement and our partner communities.

5. Good Governance - we believe in transparency and carrying out our operations with high integrity.

6. Joy - We believe in doing our work with joy and share them with others.
